2027 GMC Terrain

Elevation establishes an unusually generous starting point. Signature LED headlamps and taillamps frame its upright exterior, while heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, 15-inch GMC Premium Infotainment System, and 11-inch Driver Information Center give the cabin a decidedly modern specification. AT4 trades some of that urban polish for additional capability. Its lifted ride height, front skid plate with a steel underbody shield, red recovery hooks, and 17-inch dark-machined aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires are functional additions. An exclusive Terrain drive mode gives AT4 another advantage when exploring rougher routes beyond Spearfish. Denali moves in the other direction, concentrating on luxury. Galvano chrome accents, animated LED lighting, and 19-inch Midnight Silver machined-face wheels provide a more formal exterior treatment. Heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear outboard seats elevate the cabin, while HD Surround Vision and a Rear Camera Mirror add technology appropriate to the flagship. Available two-tone roof treatments provide further distinction.

Every 2027 Terrain is powered by a Turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder engine producing 175 hp, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Available all-wheel drive provides additional traction for snow, rain, gravel, and other changing surfaces common around the Black Hills. With the available Trailering Package, the Terrain can tow up to 1,500 lbs., providing capacity for a lightweight camper, utility trailer, or similar recreational equipment.

Selectable drive modes give the Terrain more adaptability than its compact proportions might suggest. Normal, Snow, Off-Road, and Tow/Haul settings alter vehicle responses for different conditions, while AT4 adds its exclusive Terrain Mode. The AT4’s lifted stance, all-terrain tires, and underbody protection make its rugged appearance credible. It remains compact enough for regular road travel around Spearfish while providing additional hardware for dirt roads and less predictable surfaces outside town.

The Terrain seats 5 passengers and provides 43.95 inches of front legroom. Cargo capacity measures 29.8 cu. ft. behind the second row and expands to 63.5 cu. ft. with the 60/40 rear seat folded. An underfloor compartment provides concealed storage for smaller belongings without occupying the main cargo area. Denali gives the interior its richest treatment, combining premium materials with ventilated front seats and heated rear outboard seating for greater comfort during South Dakota’s colder months.

A 15-inch GMC Premium Infotainment touchscreen is standard alongside an 11-inch Driver Information Center. Google built-in integrates Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play directly into the vehicle. Available HD Surround Vision, Rear Camera Mirror, AutoSense Power Liftgate, and wireless connectivity expand convenience. The In-Vehicle Trailering App also supports drivers using the Terrain’s available towing capability.

More than 16 safety and driver-assistance technologies are standard, including Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Reverse Automatic Braking, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. HD Rear Vision Camera, Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat, Side Bicyclist Alert, IntelliBeam®, and Teen Driver technology provide additional support, while Denali adds HD Surround Vision and a Rear Camera Mirror for expanded visibility around Spearfish and beyond
